Using Entrepreneurship to Solve Real Problems

At last year’s Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Moscow, Jeff Hoffman, cofounder of Priceline and ColorJar, advised attendees that entrepreneurs driven by purpose always outperform those driven by money.

During last month’s Congress in Milan, Hoffman built on last year’s theme of purpose when he spoke with the Global Entrepreneurship Network team to share more advice for entrepreneurs. The serial entrepreneur and mentor urged entrepreneurs to solve real problems that affect large amounts of people.

He also discussed the purpose behind entrepreneurship itself. While it is nice if a startup creates one job, what the ecosystem really needs is startups that achieve high growth and scale to generate a lot of economic stimulation and thus, jobs.
