LIMURU GIRLS SCHOOL RECEIVE THEIR TICKET TO REPRESENT KENYA AT THE AFRICA EXPO IN LIBREVILLE, GABON IN DECEMBER 2015:

Limuru Girls School is one of the national girls’ schools in Kenya, selecting the crème de la crème of the nation to be part of the institution. The school’s vision is to be a centre of academic and character excellence, a vision shared by the students and staff alike, driven by the charisma of the students to live up to their vision as seen by the brilliant Junior Achievement members of  2014. These young girls were the national winners of the JA national expo held on October 10, 2014, coming up with a simple, viable product, a sleeping bag made of chicken feathers from the neighbouring company, Kenchic. The company is the largest fully integrated poultry company in East and Central Africa, faced with the crisis of feathers as waste. The students came to an agreement with the company to collect the feathers for their Junior Achievement club and use them to make their sleeping bags, leaving all the judges and audience in awe of the brilliant and confident young ladies, confirming the enormous potential of the future crop of youth in our country, Kenya! On 26th June 2015, the girls were presented with their ticket to Libreville, Gabon to represent Kenya in the Africa Expo in December, affirming our belief in them to retain the cup in Kenya, following in the footsteps of their brothers, Starehe Boys Centre, who are the current Africa champions. We wish them all the best!
