Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) will be celebrated in three cities in Myanmar the week of November 15 to 23, 2014. Events will take place in Yangon, and, for the first time, events are also being held in Mandalay and Taunggyi. This is Myanmar’s third year participating in GEW, an international entrepreneurship event that takes places in 150 countries.
This week-long event will celebrate entrepreneurs and startups reinvigorating business in Myanmar.
The theme for GEW Myanmar this year is, “Let’s get started, Myanmar!” The week’s discussions and events are designed to inspire and better equip current and future entrepreneurs with knowledge and resources to start a business.
GEW partners include the following startups, NGOs, entrepreneurship associations and universities: Apex Management School (Mandalay), Opportunities Now; Building Markets; BLINK Agency; Project Hub Yangon; British Council; Standard Chartered; Myanmar Business Executives, Partnership for Change; Myanmar Youth Professional Club; Project Hub Yangon, USAID, GIZ; and Advancement and Development through Entrepreneurship Programs and Training (ADEPT). The week-long event is being coordinated with the financial support of USAID and GIZ.
All GEW activities are free and open to the public.
