Smart Gen Reporters Training

Youth Mobile Reporters Workshop (GEW Botswana)

In today’s digital world, every young person has the power to tell a story — right from their phone. The Youth Mobile Reporters Workshop during Global Entrepreneurship Week Botswana empowers young people with the practical skills of basic journalism, content creation, and event coverage using the tools they already have.

We no longer need big cameras or expensive editing studios to tell powerful stories. With the right skills — knowing how to get the best shot, what makes good content, and how to frame it — a simple cellphone can become a valuable tool for storytelling, influence, and opportunity.

Through this hands-on training, participants will learn how to capture and share real stories from their communities, report on GEW activities, and build a foundation for future opportunities in media, marketing, and digital communication.

This initiative is about more than reporting — it’s about giving youth a voice, building confidence, and opening doors to income-generating possibilities through creativity and awareness. The best stories come from those who live them — and our young reporters are ready to tell theirs.
