ACTIVATE THE ENTREPRENEUR WITHIN

OVERVIEW

Global Entrepreneurship Network is a platform of programs and initiatives created by the communities around the globe that celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week each November.

To celebrate this global initiative, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development (CEID) at DHA Suffa University organized a seminar on 21st November 2019. The theme of the seminar was ‘Activating the Entrepreneur Within’. To ensure the essence of the moment, speakers who possess the true nature of entrepreneurship among themselves were invited to share their experience.

Mr. Nabil Kalu, one of the speakers at the seminar, is a serial entrepreneurial and manages multiple companies, a few to mention are ‘The Design District’, ‘Kitchen Essentials’, ‘Orientals’, ‘The Plain Weave’ and ‘K2 Cattle & Dairy farming’. Nabil is a dynamic corporate trainer and an enthusiastic entrepreneur by nature. In his own unique and personalized way, he shared his entrepreneurial journey with a blend of his early struggles of being an entrepreneur. He also focused his talk towards the common misconceptions among Pakistani entrepreneurs and further relating with his own entrepreneurial journey he discussed remedies to avoid such misconceptions. In his overall talk, he kept the regional dynamics and concepts in mind, which were relatable and well-liked by the audience.

Another serial entrepreneur and currently Country Manager for Dun & Bradstreet, Mr. Nauman Lakhani, while sharing his entrepreneurial journey discussed about his early journey, and the struggles of having a corporate career and managing a business at the same time. During his talk, he shared his personal stories that how he was able to identify small opportunities in a smart way, that with time lead to opening his own chain of international stores. During his talk he related his entrepreneurial journey with the prime personality traits that can help any individual to sustain and grow to become not only a successful entrepreneur but also a great human being.

The seminar was an absolute interactive session, with the audience highly engaged. The session ended with a healthy Q&A session. Towards the end the audience were so much involved with talk that they kept the speakers engaged long after session end. The event itself was surely an overall success.
