Mr. Omer Ahmed Awan gave a very illuminating presentation on the topic, “ICTs 4 Women Entrepreneurs” at WECREATE | PAKISTAN. By sharing a few statistics, he brought home the fact that female entrepreneurs are in a small supply around the world. However, the situation in Pakistan is even bleaker than in countries like Malawi or Uruguay. In his opinion, the future of entrepreneurship would be massively accelerated with the help of ICTs. He shared a number of case studies that had achieved massively positive results in empowering female entrepreneurs in other countries. He emphasized that ICTs can help remove major access issues faced by female entrepreneurs while entering a market. ICTs can help empower female entrepreneurs in a sustainable manner which would also allow them to help and assist other aspiring female entrepreneurs in the future.
