For the first time ever, Qatar is officially joining more than 120 other countries to participate in Global Entrepreneurship Week. The national initiative is being driven by the GEW/Qatar Board, an influential group of organizations involved in the promotion of entrepreneurship and economic development within the country:
- Bedaya Center
- Enterprise Qatar (EQ)
- Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO)
- ICT Qatar
- Ministry of Business and Trade
- Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry
- Qatar Development Bank (QDB)
- Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP)
- The Youth Company
Silatech, an organization that promotes large-scale job creation, entrepreneurship, and access to capital and markets for young people in the Arab world, is the official host organization for Qatar, and chairs the GEW/Qatar Board.
“By combining our efforts together, we can create a far greater effect than our individual organizations would have by promoting entrepreneurship individually," said Dr. Tarik Yousef, CEO of Silatech. "Participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week gives us the opportunity to link with an established worldwide network to advance skills such as problem solving, creativity, and resourcefulness that are valuable to everyone, not just aspiring entrepreneurs.”
During the week of November 12-18, the GEW-Qatar Board will be working with a wide range of organizations, in both the private and commercial sector, to provide a program of activities, workshops and seminars promoting entrepreneurship in Qatar. Details will be found on a new GEW-Qatar Web site to be launched soon.
Organizations interested in participating should contact Silatech directly at gew@silatech.com.
