Second Edition of the Schools Entrepreneurship Competition

The Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of Seychelles  is organizing its second edition of the School’s Entrepreneurship Competition. This year, however it is entitled “Living with COVID-19 – A Student’s Perspective”. This is because COVID-19 has brought about a ‘new normal’ and has recalibrated everything: schooling, socializing and playing in schools. The response to the Coronavirus has demonstrated how technology can help transform how we teach and learn, for instance. It is therefore an opportune time to encourage students to think entrepreneurially and to help us imagine how we can reshape schools and learning post-COVID-19. As such, this competition is solely based on any problem that students may be encountering upon returning to school following the temporary closure.

Solutions may be submitted through any of the following manner:

a)       A3-sized drawings; or

b)       Essay (between 1000-2000 words); or

c)       Video (up to 3 minutes); or

d)       Business Plan; or

e)       PowerPoint Presentation; or

f)        Prototype.

Students shall be judged according to their age groups as follows:

a)       Primary level (6-11 years old);

b)       Secondary level  (12-16 years old); and

c)       Post-Secondary and University level (17-21 years old).
