The Sixth Startup Huddle

The Hub ltd on Friday 26th May 2023 held its sixth session of the Startup huddle. The monthly session was attended by entrepreneurs in different walks of life.

 The founders who presented were:

  • Sally Bittaye of Bliss delights
  •   Zina Zoker of Zizo arts studios

The Session was moderated by the Hub manager and the assistant manager, Basiru Drammeh and Pa Njagga Jah respectively.

Sally Bittaye is the founder of Bliss delights, a Gambian dairy company specialised in the production of natural yoghurt. It is a self funded business that aims to bring about quality milk to Gambians. She is a full time employee who found passion in making yoghurt as a means of a side hustle. She said a self funded business relents one in executing new business ideas as one has to focus on selling, making profits and restocking.
Sally Bittaye said one of her major challenges is packaging and finding quality milk. She told the startups that it's not always easy to please customers but worth giving it their all.

Zina Zoker is the Founder of Zizo arts studio, an art enterprise in the Gambia engaged in painting and art training. Zina believes art was a gift he had since he was young  which he nurtured by training himself and networking with people. He started his business by doing portraits of people and  sharing it online which people saw and started making commissions.

Zina said The Gambia is not an art hub thus makes it difficult to get art materials as people are not investing in it . He mentioned the importance of art especially in hospitals which serves as a form of therapy for patients. He advised  them to  look at ways of collaborating with right partners and be innovative.
