AI Agents in Education

The AI Agents in Education session, held on 21 November 2025 as part of GEW 2025, introduced students to the rapidly growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming the teaching and learning experience. Organized by ICST University Park and guided by AM. Asfan, the session helped students understand how AI-powered tools are reshaping classrooms, improving efficiency, and making learning more personalized and accessible. 

The session began by explaining what AI agents are systems such as chatbots, virtual assistants, automated grading tools, and personalized learning platforms that support students and teachers in real time. Students discovered how these technologies automate repetitive tasks, provide instant feedback, analyze learning patterns, and adapt lessons to each learner’s strengths and needs. This understanding helped them see AI as a powerful partner in modern education. 

A key message highlighted during the session was: “AI doesn’t replace teachers it enhances them.” Students learned how AI assists educators by reducing workload, improving assessment accuracy, and enabling teachers to focus more on creativity, support, and hands-on learning. They also explored real-world examples of AI-powered tools already being used in classrooms globally. 

The session also addressed important ethical considerations. Students discussed issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and responsible technology use. They were encouraged to think critically about how AI should be designed and implemented in ways that are transparent, fair, and supportive of student success. This discussion helped students understand that ethical awareness is essential in AI-driven environments. 

Through interactive demonstrations and case studies, students discovered how AI can create more inclusive learning environments by supporting diverse learning styles, assisting differently-abled students, and offering personalized pathways for academic improvement. This exposure strengthened their understanding of AI as a tool that can break barriers and expand educational opportunities. 

The session also inspired students to prepare for an AI-driven future. They learned about the importance of digital literacy, AI skills, and tech awareness in future careers. Many students expressed interest in exploring fields such as AI development, education technology, and data science after realizing how AI impacts multiple industries. 

By the end of the session, students gained a deeper appreciation for how AI agents are reshaping education. They left motivated to use AI tools responsibly, explore innovative learning methods, and consider careers in AI and EdTech that contribute to more personalized, inclusive, and efficient educational experiences.
