App creating tools

Create apps, Explore tools, Build your digital future!

The App Creating Tools session held on 06 November 2025 introduced students to beginner-friendly platforms used to design and develop mobile and web applications. Organized by ICST University as part of GEW 2025, the session aimed to build technical awareness and guide students in exploring tools that simplify the app development process. Students were introduced to platforms such as Android Studio, Flutter, Figma, MIT App Inventor, and various no-code/low-code tools, helping them understand how functional apps are created from idea to deployment.

Facilitators guided students step-by-step through practical demonstrations using drag-and-drop interfaces and layout design features. Students learned how to create screens, design buttons, navigate between pages, and add simple functions using no-code tools providing them with hands-on experience even without advanced programming skills. This approach highlighted that innovation is accessible to everyone, not just those with technical backgrounds.

Students also explored how app features work behind the scenes, including navigation logic, input fields, and basic workflows. Through discussions and experimentation, they gained an understanding of UI principles, user experience (UX), problem-solving, and step-by-step planning necessary for building an effective app.

By the end of the session, students felt more confident about exploring digital creativity and expressed excitement about creating simple app prototypes. The session strengthened their interest in digital innovation and encouraged them to take their first steps toward becoming young app creators. It aligned with the GEW 2025 mission of promoting technological growth, entrepreneurship, and innovation among youth.
