Build Your Network

Your network is your net worth start building it today!

The Build Your Network session, held on 21 November 2025 during GEW 2025, helped students understand the powerful role that relationships, collaboration, and community support play in entrepreneurial success. The session shifted students’ thinking from seeing success as an individual effort to recognizing that strong networks are essential foundations for growth, innovation, and resilience.

The facilitator opened the session with the powerful message: “Your network is your net worth.” Students learned that networks are much more than contacts they are ecosystems of trust, support, and opportunity. They explored how meaningful connections provide access to mentorship, resources, funding, and shared knowledge, all of which are necessary for building and scaling ventures.

Another key message emphasized was: “Relationships create resilience.” Students discovered that networks help entrepreneurs face challenges with confidence, offering motivation during difficult moments and amplifying progress during times of success. This idea encouraged them to see networking as a lifelong skill that supports both personal and professional growth.

Interactive role-play activities helped students practice introducing themselves, sharing ideas, and identifying potential collaborators. These exercises boosted their confidence and demonstrated how small conversations can create big opportunities. Students realized that networking is not a formal or intimidating process it is a natural extension of curiosity, communication, and collaboration.

The session also highlighted the importance of diversity in networks. Students were encouraged to engage with people from different backgrounds, industries, and perspectives. They learned that diverse networks spark creativity, broaden understanding, and enrich entrepreneurial thinking. This mindset encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones and connect with individuals who challenge and inspire them.

By the end of the session, students developed a clearer understanding that entrepreneurship thrives on community, and that the strength of their future ventures will depend on the relationships they build today. They left motivated to cultivate meaningful networks that empower them to grow as entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers. The session successfully reframed networking as a powerful, lifelong tool for opportunity and success.
