Business Model Innovation Lab

Innovation starts by questioning assumptions!

The Business Model Innovation Lab, held on 22 November 2025, helped students understand how rethinking business models can unlock new opportunities and strengthen entrepreneurial ventures. The session emphasized that innovation is not limited to products or services—true innovation also happens in how a business creates, delivers, and captures value. Students learned that when markets change, customer expectations shift, and technology evolves, business models must evolve too.

The facilitator introduced key frameworks such as value propositions, customer segments, revenue streams, and engagement strategies, showing students how these components work together as the backbone of any venture. A central message of the session was:
“Innovation begins when you question assumptions.”
Students were encouraged to challenge traditional ways of thinking and explore new approaches to structuring businesses. Real-life examples demonstrated how successful companies reinvented their models to stay competitive in fast-changing environments.

Interactive activities formed a major part of the workshop. Students worked in teams to design and test their own business model ideas by mapping customer journeys, identifying pain points, and proposing creative solutions. These hands-on exercises helped them see that business models are not fixed plans—they are flexible, evolving frameworks that must adjust to customer needs and market dynamics.

Participants also explored how digital transformation reshapes modern business models. They discussed how global trends, technology shifts, and new customer behaviors create both challenges and opportunities. The facilitator highlighted another key insight:
“A business model is a living framework, not a fixed plan.”
This inspired students to view innovation as a continuous journey, grounded in learning, experimentation, and adaptability.

By the end of the session, students expressed greater confidence in their ability to design competitive, sustainable, and future-ready ventures. They gained a deeper understanding of how flexible, customer-centered business models lead to resilience and long-term impact. The session effectively prepared them to think strategically and creatively about building ventures that thrive in constantly changing entrepreneurial landscapes.
