Digital Skills for Women Entrepreneurs

Digital Skills for Women Entrepreneurs

The Digital Skills for Women Entrepreneurs session, held on 22 November 2025 as part of GEW 2025, empowered women to confidently adopt digital tools that can strengthen and grow their businesses. Conducted by Niluja (ICTA Resource Person) at Kalanthar Road Meerakeny, Eravur and organized by ICST University Park, the session helped participants understand how technology can simplify operations, improve visibility, and open new opportunities in today’s digital marketplace.

The session began by explaining the importance of digital literacy in modern entrepreneurship. Participants learned how digital tools support key business functions such as online marketing, branding, communication, product showcasing, and financial management. They explored popular platforms including social media, messaging apps, content creation tools, and basic budgeting software discovering how each one adds value to daily business tasks.

A major focus was reducing fear and hesitation around technology. Many women expressed uncertainty about using digital platforms, and the facilitator addressed this through simple demonstrations, step-by-step guidance, and relatable examples. Participants learned to create basic digital content, manage online business pages, communicate effectively with customers, and present their products in more engaging and professional ways. These hands-on activities built their confidence to use technology independently.

The session also highlighted how maintaining a strong online presence helps women entrepreneurs reach more customers, understand market needs, and promote their products more effectively. Women discovered that digital tools are not complicated they are practical, powerful, and essential for staying competitive, especially in local and growing markets. The session encouraged them to use technology to track customer feedback, manage orders, and monitor market trends.

Participants openly discussed challenges such as lack of digital familiarity, fear of making mistakes, and limited exposure to online tools. Through supportive guidance and peer collaboration, they were encouraged to learn at their own pace, ask questions, and keep practicing. This helped reduce technology-related anxiety and increase motivation to apply digital skills in real entrepreneurial projects.

By the end of the session, many women felt newly inspired and confident. They left with a clearer understanding of how digital tools can simplify marketing, improve communication, organize business activities, and expand customer reach. The workshop successfully strengthened their digital literacy while motivating them to embrace technology as a driver of long-term business success and empowerment.
