Entrepreneurship Through Education

Turn knowledge into ideas and ideas into impact!

The Entrepreneurship Through Education session, held on 21 November 2025 as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2025, highlighted how education serves as the foundation for developing entrepreneurial mindsets, skills, and confidence. Organized by ICST University Park, the session demonstrated that academic learning is not separate from entrepreneurship rather, it is a powerful platform that shapes innovative thinkers and future business leaders.

The session began by exploring how education equips students with essential entrepreneurial skills such as critical thinking, creativity, leadership, communication, and problem-solving. Students were shown how every field technology, business, science, humanities, and arts contributes uniquely to entrepreneurial thinking. They learned that entrepreneurship is not only about starting a business, but also about being proactive, resourceful, and solution-oriented in any environment.

A key theme discussed was entrepreneurial mindset development. Students were introduced to how education systems can nurture this mindset through project-based learning, mentorship opportunities, innovation labs, and access to resources. They discovered that supportive academic environments, combined with real-world exposure, help transform ideas into practical solutions and sustainable ventures.

Practical steps for applying entrepreneurial thinking within academics were also shared. Students explored how to use business plan development, market research, value proposition creation, and problem-based assignments as part of their learning journey. This helped them understand how classroom knowledge can be applied to solve real-world problems and build meaningful business ideas.

The session emphasized the importance of networks and support systems. Students learned how mentors, educators, peer groups, and institutional programs play a vital role in guiding aspiring entrepreneurs. They also explored how education opens opportunities for funding, collaboration, and long-term career growth, especially in rapidly evolving industries that demand innovation and adaptability.

By the end of the workshop, students understood that education is the starting point of every entrepreneurial journey. They felt empowered to combine academic knowledge with creative thinking, turning ideas into action. Many expressed new interest in entrepreneurship as a meaningful, impactful, and achievable path. The session successfully demonstrated that when education and entrepreneurship work together, they create opportunities for innovation, leadership, and sustainable growth.
