Graphic Designing

Turn creativity into powerful visual communication!

The Graphic Designing session, held on 21 November 2025 as part of GEW 2025, introduced students to the creative and technical world of visual communication. Organized by ICST University Park and guided by FM. Faslan, the session helped participants understand how graphic design plays a vital role in branding, communication, marketing, and digital content creation.

The session began with an introduction to the fundamental principles of design, including color theory, typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy. Students learned how these elements work together to create designs that are both attractive and meaningful. They discovered that graphic design is not only about creativity it is about problem-solving and communicating ideas clearly through visuals.

Through live demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students practiced using basic design tools to create posters, social media graphics, simple logos, and layouts. They explored how design choices such as color combinations, font styles, spacing, and alignment influence the user experience and shape brand perception. This practical exposure helped students build confidence in experimenting with real design projects.

A key focus of the session was visual storytelling. Students discovered how effective design can convey emotions, guide attention, and deliver messages with clarity. They learned that great design begins with understanding the target audience, the purpose of the message, and the platform where the design will be displayed. This approach strengthened their understanding of communication strategy within the design process.

The facilitator also highlighted the importance of graphic design in entrepreneurship. Students explored how strong visuals shape brand identity, build trust, and enhance marketing campaigns. They learned that businesses rely on powerful design to stand out in competitive markets, and that visual identity is a strategic tool for customer engagement and brand recognition.

By the end of the session, students expressed greater confidence in using design software, applying design principles, and creating meaningful visual content. Many were inspired to pursue graphic design as a career or integrate design skills into their entrepreneurial projects. The session successfully enhanced students’ creativity, technical skills, and understanding of how design influences communication in today’s digital world.
