The Honey Beekeeping & Apiary Management Training in the Ampara District has the objective: To promote sustainable livelihoods, To increase honey production at home level, to improve Agriculture productivity, & to develop skills in modern beekeeping techniques. This promotes a nature-friendly, profitable business for Ampara. The training is a comprehensive course covering all aspects of modern apiary management, including hive construction, bee colony health management, pest and disease control, and ethical honey harvesting and processing. Crucially, it highlights the role of bees in pollination to emphasize the positive impact on broader agricultural productivity in the Ampara District. The program is aimed at School leavers who are going to start any self employment in future and aspiring agricultural entrepreneurs in Ampara. By acquiring the skills for honey beekeeping, they establish a sustainable, eco-friendly livelihood that generates direct income through honey and by-products, while simultaneously boosting local crop yields.
