ICT Awareness

The ICT Awareness session, conducted on 06 November 2025 as part of GEW 2025, aimed to educate students on the importance of Information and Communication Technology in today’s digital world. Organized by ICST University, the session helped participants understand how ICT supports education, communication, creativity, and future career development. Students were introduced to essential ICT concepts such as digital literacy, cybersecurity basics, responsible internet use, and the role of technology in everyday life. 

Facilitators began by explaining foundational ICT principles, creating a clear and interactive learning environment. Students engaged in discussions on online safety, identifying reliable information, responsible device usage, and adopting good digital habits. This helped them recognize both the benefits and risks of digital environments while learning practical techniques for safe and effective online engagement. 

The session also emphasized how ICT enhances problem-solving, research, innovation, and communication skills. Students gained a better understanding of how digital tools support modern learning and how technology influences global industries. As the session progressed, students actively shared their own experiences with technology, asked questions confidently, and explored how ICT can empower them in academics and daily life. 

By the end of the program, students demonstrated increased confidence in using technology responsibly and effectively. The session successfully strengthened their awareness of digital literacy, safe online behavior, and the importance of ICT skills for future opportunities. It aligned with the GEW 2025 mission of fostering technological understanding, digital readiness, and responsible ICT usage among young learners.
