Social Media for Start-UP

Grow your start-up with the power of social media!

The Social Media for Start-Up session, held on 06 November 2025 as part of GEW 2025, introduced aspiring entrepreneurs to the powerful role of social media in promoting and growing new businesses. Organized by the undergraduates of ICST University Park, the session helped participants understand how digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp can be used to build brand awareness, attract customers, and strengthen business communication.

The session began by explaining the basics of social media marketing, including audience engagement, brand identity, and community-building. Students learned that social media is not limited to advertising it is also a space for storytelling, building trust, and creating meaningful connections with customers. Facilitators guided participants on choosing the right platforms based on their target audience and business goals.

Participants explored how modern entrepreneurs use digital tools to reach wider audiences quickly and cost-effectively. They learned the importance of creating engaging content such as photos, short videos, and clear product descriptions to drive customer interest. Practical examples helped them understand how consistent posting, branding, and authentic communication can influence customer engagement and business growth.

The session also covered common challenges faced by start-ups such as managing multiple platforms, dealing with negative feedback, and maintaining activity and provided practical solutions like using scheduling tools, analytics, and timely responses to customers. These discussions encouraged participants to think creatively and use social media as a reliable tool for entrepreneurial success.

By the end of the session, participants felt more confident in using social media to support their business ideas. They understood how digital marketing contributes to customer reach, brand visibility, and start-up development. The session successfully motivated them to apply these skills in their own ventures and explore opportunities in the digital marketplace
