Idea LanchPad

Idea LaunchPad, hosted by the University of Colombo School of Computing, is a dynamic, multi-day event designed to inspire and prepare second-year IT undergraduates for their entrepreneurial journeys. With over 350 participants, the LaunchPad aims to bridge basic entrepreneurial knowledge with practical skills for real-world applications.

Event Outline:
Day 1: Power Play Pitching
Participants engage in interactive sessions to learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, including innovation, risk-taking, and value creation. Activities include a "Think-Pair-Share" debate on entrepreneurial pathways and forming student groups to develop business ideas aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Day 2: Strategic Expansion Forum
Teams delve deeper into entrepreneurial strategy by creating Business Model Canvases, covering key components such as customer segments, value propositions, and revenue streams. This hands-on activity fosters critical thinking about business scalability and strategic planning (Themes: Education, Inclusion)

Day 3: Tales of Triumph
The LaunchPad concludes with an inspiring session featuring success stories from well-known entrepreneurs. The focus is on fostering an entrepreneurial mindset by emphasizing innovation, risk-taking, and the ability to seize opportunities. (Themes: Ecosystems, Education, Inclusion)
