Starting your Business with Bootstrap Financing
Bootstrap financing is a resource management method characterized by avoiding market-based resource transactions. It is an effective way of starting a venture, and it has been used intuitively by small business owners. This interactive presentation will start by reviewing the newest findings in entrepreneurship research with emphasis on bootstrap financing. Examples of bootstrap financing techniques will be discussed using data derived from biographies and autobiographies of founders of ten of the most successful innovative technology companies: Hewlett-Packard, Digital Equipment, Apple, Microsoft, Dell, Amazon.com, BlackBerry, eBay, Google, and Facebook. The presentation will conclude with discussion and sharing of your ideas about bootstrapping methods.
