Venture Beyond Borders: Opportunities & Challenges of Migrant Entrepreneurs
Dive into a conversation about how you can go beyond borders and pursue your venture as a migrant entrepreneur.
Are you an international student, graduate, or migrant interested in entrepreneurship? Or perhaps you are already hustling on a startup as a "migrapreneur"? This panel and meetup event is for you!
You are invited to participate and share your valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities of migrant entrepreneurs in Australia. Join us on Wednesday 16 November at 2:30 pm as we unpack what it takes to build a startup from the ground up and running.
Migrants and refugees engaged in entrepreneurial activities in Australia face insurmountable challenges including low social capital, lack of opportunities for networking, limited financial and digital literacy, and language problems to equally compete in the market with their host country counterparts.
To explore how migrant and refugee community in Australia can optimize their experience and skills to take on entrepreneurial opportunities, we are hosting a panel discussion with migrant entrepreneurs and experts in this area.
The event has been initiated as an extension of a research project by RMIT academics Associate Professor Afreen Huq and Dr. Ashenafi Biru. This panel discussion and meetup are facilitated by Eugenia Yuan, Community & Partnerships Manager at RMIT Activator and funded by RMIT Global Business Innovation Enabling Capability Platform.
