Why you need to work for a company with innovation culture

Companies with a truly innovative culture are more than just a fun place to work — they build high-performing, successful and career-satisfied individuals.

These workplaces have a resilience to failure and an appetite for experimentation, fostering a psychologically safe, collaborative and creative environment for their employees to thrive.

Anu Villarosa has been building and consulting to high-performing teams her entire career — from elite sporting clubs such as Liverpool and Richmond, to leading cultural transformation at leading legal and consulting firms, Gadens, Gilbert + Tobin and Pitcher Partners.

“The premise of high-performing culture is understanding how and when you as an individual perform at your best”. As our keynote for this special Study Melbourne Career Catalyst networking event, Anu Villarosa - Director of People Experience, Pitcher Partners shares her insight into:

  • What a culture of innovation really looks like
  • Why you should seek out companies with an innovation culture
  • How to select the right future employer
  • What innovative companies look for in a potential employee
  • How to thrive as a high-performing individual

About our keynote speaker

Anu Villarosa, Director — People Experience, Pitcher Partners

Anu started her career as a lawyer in London working in private practice and then high-profile media and sports organisations. She transitioned into senior people, capability and change roles in 2008.

Driven by change and challenge, Anu is most inspired when she’s building cultures of learning that go beyond Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements. Her approach is bold but collaborative to ensure effectiveness, which helps people get the most from their careers and companies to retain their best and brightest talent.

Anu knows her mentoring and leadership is successful when a person’s performance improves tenfold, often affording them clarity, higher energy, and the capability to take on a broader array of responsibilities, particularly projects that drive professional and organizational growth.

Building her own performance models through applying theoretical knowledge developed in her post-graduate studies shapes Anu’s performance and mindset coaching. Anu has trained with Echos School of Design Thinking, Oxford University and Swinburne University in Positive Psychology, Innovation and Leadership. She is also an accredited executive and neuro-linguistic programming coach and qualified to use various behavioral and mindset psychometric tools.

Alongside her corporate career, Anu has a consulting practice working with c-suite executives and professional athletes focused on maximizing their performance and wellbeing. Anu is also a board member of the children’s charity Variety Australia. Being able to contribute her legal, human resources, strategy, and change management background to an organization that has a broader positive impact on the community is highly rewarding to her.
