BSC's Global Entrepreneurship Week activities Report 2024

During the GEW2024, the Business Support Center Yemen, (BSCy), one of the Yemeni Business Club (YBC) projects, implemented the following activities during the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024:

First: The training program "Developing the Capabilities and Skills of Entrepreneurs":

The activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 were inaugurated on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the headquarters of the Yemeni Business Club. Participants in the training program from 40 startups companies in the sector (agricultural, commercial, industrial, service, technology) in addition to a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Business Club, attended the opening of the event. 

The training program "Developing the Capabilities and Skills of Entrepreneurs" aims to enhance the capabilities and skills of 40 startups, taking place from November 16 to 18, 2024, through specialized and intensive training sessions in various fields for a duration of 3 days, totaling 24 training hours. Participants in the training program received training in the following areas:

- Managing startups.                                   

- Crafting a vision for startups. 

- Product development and marketing.                                 

- Contracts and partnerships.

- Financial management in startups.                     

- How to benefit from digital services.

- Excellence in customer service.                                   

- Introduction to human resources.

At the conclusion of the training program, participants were awarded a certificate of participation and honored by the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Business Club and the club's executive team and entities, in addition to honoring the volunteers of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024. 

Second: Future Leaders Competition:

The center launched the "Future Leaders" drawing competition via social media platforms (Instagram) as one of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024, from November 11-16, 2024, by participating with an expressive artwork on one of the following topics:

- What is Entrepreneurship Week? 

- Using the Arabic script in drawing.

- Including event hashtags for the week.

It is worth noting that the number of participants in this competition reached over 2,500 people during the voting period.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winner of the first place was awarded $100, and the second-place winner received $50 as encouragement prizes to continue developing their artistic skills.

Thirdly: B2E Sessions:

The center held the B2E (Business to Entrepreneurs) meetings as part of the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 on Wednesday and Thursday, 20-21 November 2024 for participants in the training program "Developing the Capabilities and Skills of Entrepreneurs" for 40 startup companies. 

Members of the Yemeni Business Club's Board of Directors participated in these sessions for ten groups, which aimed to provide quality and targeted advice to entrepreneurs based on the experiences of business men and women. This supported entrepreneurs in increasing their knowledge and provided them with strong insights to overcome the challenges they may face in the future.

Fourth: Platform for the Conclusion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities: 

The Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 concluded on Wednesday, 20 November 2024, through a closing platform attended by the Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, minister of social affairs and labor, members of the board of directors of the Yemeni Business Club add its members and several businesswomen and businessmen, totaling approximately 120 attendees. 

During the event, the outcomes of the training program were presented, followed by the inauguration of the exhibition showcasing products and services from participants in the training program "Developing the Capabilities and Skills of Entrepreneurs" for 40 startups.

Fifth: Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2024:

The opening and ribbon-cutting of the products and services for participants in the training program "Developing the Capabilities and Skills of Entrepreneurs" took place on Wednesday, 20 November 2024. 

The exhibition lasted for two days to showcase products and services across various sectors, prominently displaying the entrepreneurial efforts of 40 startups to contribute to improving and preparing a suitable environment for business practices, in addition to introducing them to the private and public sectors and the community. 

The exhibition also added value for entrepreneurs by allowing them to present their products and services to a select group of business leaders, financiers, and other guests. Additionally, the exhibition helped entrepreneurs' network with each other and exchange experiences. 

It is worth noting that the number of visitors to the exhibition exceeded 600.

Sixth: Field Visits to Educational Institutions:

The center implemented field visit activities for educational institutions as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 events from 16 November 2024 to 2 December 2024.

 The aim was to raise awareness about the concept of entrepreneurship, instill the importance of entrepreneurship among students, and encourage youth in schools and universities to build their own projects in the future. Currently, the number of beneficiaries from these visits is 620 students.

In conclusion, the GEW activities of this year's the events reached more than 1,461 

Beneficiary.
