How does the program work?

ALDEA is a community where entrepreneurs can find mentors, experts, service provider’s, investors and banks to leverage the startup´s growth.  Innpulsa Colombia supports entrepreneurs through financial resources that allow the startups to connect with service providers, grants and financial resources.

ALDEA has 4 challenges that must be overcome by innovative entrepreneurs.

First Challenge: Meeting the entrepreneurs!

The first step to enter ALDEA is to register in the community, for which the entrepreneurs must respond with truthful and accurate information to each of the questions of the application form, at http: // Aldeainnpulsa.com

Once the entrepreneurs have filled the application form, they will receive a report of the situation of the company with some key recommendations and interactive courses to strengthen their weaknesses.

Second Challenge: Engage with Experts!

Having overcome the first Challenge, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to have a conversation with three experts (Financial, business development and Sector experts), who will validate all the information provided by the entrepreneurs in the initial form.  As a result of this conversation, the experts rate the startups and those who obtain the desired or minimum score will be granted with an “Access Key” to address the identified weakness by the experts.  With this “Access Key”, the entrepreneurs can select the service provider(s) of their preference, according to recommendations given by experts.

The Access Key can be of three types:

    Type 1 : up to USD 7,000.

    Type 2 : up to  USD 13,000.

    Type 3 : up to  USD 20,000.

Third Challenge: Connect with your advisors!

During this challenge entrepreneurs will redeem the “Access Key” that was given by iNNpulsa Colombia to acquire the specialized services. The specialized services that entrepreneurs can choose are:

• Access to new markets.

• New products, processes and business model development.

• Business Acceleration.

• Taxes, financial or legal advice.

• Intellectual property advice.

• Coworking spaces.

Through a marketplace, entrepreneurs can get to select the service provider(s) from a list of advisors offering specialized services enabled by iNNpulsa Colombia. Once the entrepreneurs have matched up with a service provider(s) that is most suitable to their startup needs, the parties must subscribe an agreement which include the service value, payments form, action plan, and the final outcome of the service.

Fourth challenge: Raising capital!

In addition to specialized services provided at the third challenge, entrepreneurs belonging to ALDEA which require funding will have the opportunity to receive support to identify their financial needs. iNNpulsa Colombia will identify the source of funding having into account the startups financial structure and growth strategy and will recommend the sources of resources, either credit, capital or grants. This identification will be subject to iNNpulsa´s capabilities to match up the resources available in the market with the startups.

Monitoring + Evaluation Methods

Aldea has the following goals for 2017:

  • First Challenge: Meeting the entrepreneurs! : 700 startups registered.
  • Second Challenge: Engage with Experts! 490 startups had a conversation with experts.
  • Third Challenge: Connect with your advisors! - 282 redeemed the “Access Key” with service provider(s).
  • Fourth challenge: Raising capital! -100 startups found financial resources (Credit, Capital or Grants) 
What impact has been measured?

Aldea is a fairly new program. 

What lessons can be learned?

•   One of the main challenges of Aldea Program is to benefit entrepreneurs from Colombia, in these terms, the Second Challenge: Engage with Experts! Must be carried out with experts from the regions of the entrepreneurs.

•   The talks must be made face to face, otherwise does not fulfill the objective of generating a "conversation".

•   Entrepreneurs recognize Aldea as a program that has been agile, simple and practical, emphasizing the value provided through the “Access keys”.

•   iNNpulsa Colombia team is knowing entrepreneurs and rising very valuable baseline.
