What are the main aims and objectives?

This certification program is aimed at strengthening the country's ecosystem by developing entrepreneurship culture and mindset through education. The program provides entrepreneurship training to educators at all levels and modalities throughout the educational system.  Those who successfully complete the program are certified to teach entrepreneurship in their institutions.

How does the program work?

Aula Emprendedora is an educational initiative to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and promote entrepreneurial activity.  By implementing dynamic tools to stimulate and strengthen entrepreneurial education, the program aims to strengthen the ecosystem by encouraging today's students to value entrepreneurship as a life option.

Monitoring + Evaluation Methods

Before taking part in the program, each teacher is evaluated to establish a baseline.  After each training module, each participant is evaluated.  To become certified, participants must also commit to developing an educational initiative within their educational facilities.

What impact has been measured?

As of November 2020, more than 300 teachers have received training impacting more than 18,000 students in the country.

What lessons can be learned?

The main challenge MICM has faced is coordinating with the Ministry of Education on establishing a strong network of teachers committed to the cause.  Many teachers who expressed interest are not always ready to make the effort involved in stimulating entrepreneurial behaviors.
