June 3, 2025 – Bangladesh has achieved a historic milestone by winning the Best Country Award at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2025, held in Indianapolis, USA. Competing with 200 countries across the globe, Bangladesh emerged as a leader in fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and ecosystem development.
The prestigious award was formally received by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of GEN Bangladesh, and K M Hasan Ripon, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh, during the GEC Award Ceremony on June 3, 2025. This recognition marks a significant achievement for the nation and highlights its growing influence on the global entrepreneurial stage.
The Global Entrepreneurship Congress, hosted annually by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), brings together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and startup champions from around the world to celebrate innovation and discuss the future of entrepreneurship.
This award underscores the remarkable contributions made by GEN Bangladesh, in collaboration with Daffodil International University, Bangladesh Venture Capital Limited, and other ecosystem enablers. Initiatives such as GEN Campus Dhaka, Smart Accelerator Programs, SheMeansDigital, and active participation in the Entrepreneurship World Cup have positioned Bangladesh as a global role model for inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship growth.
