GEN Bangladesh and State University of Bangladesh Collaborate to Strengthen Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

20th November 2024 – A dedicated team from the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh met with the authorities of State University of Bangladesh to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and fostering a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.

The meeting highlighted the shared commitment of both organizations to foster innovation, support aspiring entrepreneurs, and build a robust framework for sustainable growth. A key point of discussion was the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024, celebrated globally from 18 to 24 November 2024 in over 200 countries. GEW 2024 will shine a spotlight on both emerging and established entrepreneurs, with a strong emphasis on breaking barriers for individuals striving to embrace entrepreneurship.

GEN Bangladesh and State University of Bangladesh identified areas of mutual interest, including creating opportunities for student entrepreneurs, providing access to mentorship and resources, and enhancing global connectivity for the university's talent pool.

The meeting marks the beginning of an inspiring partnership to drive meaningful change and establish Bangladesh as a hub for entrepreneurial growth. GEN Bangladesh remains committed to working with educational institutions like the State University of Bangladesh to pave the way for a brighter future for entrepreneurs across the nation.

About State University of Bangladesh (SUB) : State University of Bangladesh (SUB) was established in 2002 under the Private University Act 1992, as amended in 1998. As an academic institution of higher education and learning, SUB had started its journey initially with a modest offering of some untested areas of health science.  This is how the term ‘trendsetter’ has become SUB’s qualifying appellation, and since then the term has characterized SUB’s main ambience and ethos. As the university kept growing, it started to expand its academic program manifold, and as of now there are 10 academic departments under 3 faculties and two more departments, Department of Data Science and Department of Music and Theatre Performance, have been proposed for approval to the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh.
