GEN Bangladesh hosted a high-level roundtable titled “Skilling Bangladesh: Advancing the Skills and Employment Ecosystem for National Growth, in collaboration with The University of Skills Enrichment and Technology (USET) on 28 August 2025 at Hotel Sarina, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
BNP Standing Committee Member and Chief Guest Mr. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury delivered a powerful message outlining BNP’s ambitious yet practical roadmap to create 1 crore jobs within 1.5 years. He clarified this is not a political slogan, but a well-studied, implementable plan based on:
a) Massive skill development
b) Promoting self-employment
c) Boosting remittance through skilled migration
d) Nurturing digital and creative sectors
e) Developing entrepreneurs nationwide
“We want our youth to be job creators, not just job seekers both at home and abroad,” he said.
Dr. Dr. Ziauddin Hyder: Adviser to BNP Chairperson, shared a visionary keynote on “Toward a National Skills Ecosystem,” highlighting gaps, challenges, and the urgent need for synchronized national action.
Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman: Skill and Migration Expert, shared a thought-provoking roadmap on how Bangladesh can unlock $100 billion in remittances by shifting from labor-export to skill-export.
GEN Bangladesh’s Managing Director, K M Hasan Ripon, who moderated the event, reiterated: “Skill is the currency of the future. Employability comes from skills not certificates. We must build an ecosystem where our youth are empowered to contribute with dignity, creativity, and global competitiveness.”
This roundtable brought together policymakers, economists, educationists, industry leaders, youth representatives, and development experts under one roof to discuss a national roadmap for building a skilled, self-reliant, and globally competitive Bangladesh.
