Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2024 in Bangladesh, hosted by GEN Bangladesh, has been a resounding success, as highlighted in the recently published Impact Report. The celebrations, held from November 18–24, solidified Bangladesh’s position as a thriving entrepreneurial hub, contributing to the nation’s economic and social transformation.

The Impact Report reveals the remarkable scale and scope of GEW 2024 in Bangladesh:

  • Direct Reach: Over 50,000 youth actively participated in events across all 64 districts, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Digital Engagement: More than 5 million individuals were reached through digital platforms, amplifying the impact nationwide.
  • Events and Collaborations: With 359+ events organized in partnership with 50+ organizations, GEW 2024 became a unifying platform for entrepreneurs, academia, and industry leaders.
  • Youth Empowerment: Over 30 business proposals were received, highlighting the innovative potential of young minds.
  • Networking and Connectivity: The initiative fostered connections among 98+ stakeholders, including chambers of commerce, universities, and government bodies.

 

Notable Highlights from GEW 2024

  1. The Market of Tradition: This unique event, hosted by Daffodil International University and GEN Bangladesh, celebrated Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage while promoting entrepreneurial innovation.
  2. Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2024: Empowered 1,000 entrepreneurs through project showcases and expert sessions, fostering solutions to address systemic barriers.
  3. Entrepreneurship Rally and Meetups: Inspirational rallies and meetups were conducted nationwide, with active participation from students, educators, and entrepreneurs.
  4. Startup Huddle Initiatives: Highlighted groundbreaking startups such as Proshanti.online, addressing mental health and career challenges, and MoveOn Technologies Ltd., which revolutionized cross-border e-commerce.
  5. Workshops and Roundtables: Discussions included topics like growth mindset, preparing Gen Z for emerging industries, and skill development for future-ready professionals.

A Unified Effort for Transformation

GEN Bangladesh expressed gratitude to its partners, including the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), and the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, whose unwavering support helped achieve these milestones. Special acknowledgment was given to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education for promoting creativity and innovation at the grassroots level.
