Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh and BRAC Bank, one of the country’s most prominent entrepreneur-friendly banks, have officially signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on strengthening Bangladesh’s startup ecosystem.
The partnership, formalized at a signing ceremony held at BRAC Bank’s Dhaka headquarters, will focus on key areas including startup financing solutions, mentorship and capacity-building programs, innovation promotion, and ecosystem development initiatives. Both organizations will work together on prominent platforms such as the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), Entrepreneurship World Cup (EWC), and Startup Huddle to amplify their impact.
The MoU outlines a multi-year collaboration framework with periodic reviews to ensure effective implementation and measurable outcomes. GEN Bangladesh will lead ecosystem-building and event management efforts, while BRAC Bank will provide tailored financial products and services designed to meet the unique needs of entrepreneurs, especially those from underserved communities.
Attending the ceremony were Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Treasurer of GEN Bangladesh; Md. Kamruzzaman, Head of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Daffodil International University; K. M. Hasan Ripon, Managing Director of GEN Bangladesh; and Syed Abdul Momen, AMD and Head of SME at BRAC Bank. Syed Abdul Momen emphasized BRAC Bank’s commitment:
