GEW Belarus 2022 was dedicated to the new business reality. For the third year in a row, it was held outside of Belarus, and for the first time the program included offline performances and events, when participants of the entrepreneurial movement could meet in person.
For the last three years, the Belarusian entrepreneurship community has been going through a difficult period. Many of the businessmen who supported the political protests of 2020 ended up outside of Belarus. People inside the country experience economic and social problems, complicated by the war in Ukraine and the loss of reputation for Belarusians on the world stage. This creates a new business reality for Belarusians. Now Belarusian entrepreneurs can be found in Poland, Lithuania, Georgia, USA and many other countries of the world. However, regardless of the place of stay, they do not stop to relate and support each other, share insights and help each other to create new and develop previous projects.
The GEW Belarus program included speaker presentations, workshops and networking sessions, and an International Entrepreneurship Forum. Mikita Mikado, Pavel Daneyko, Ivana Caha Sediva, Hrish Lotlikar and others spoke at the event. The program contained many success stories in the new reality. Entrepreneurs exchanged their experiences, thoughts, ideas, and business knowledge. All their speeches are available on the "IMAGURU Startup HUB" YouTube channel. An integral part of GEW Belarus 2022 was the Startup Battle – a competition of startups, which has traditionally been held all 12 years of the forum's existence in the Belarusian context.
GEW is held simultaneously in over 100 countries, but only Belarus and Ukraine are allowed to hold the forum outside their territory. The main goal of the week was to draw attention to entrepreneurship issues, support the Belarusian community abroad, find new solutions and resources for Belarusian founders and make Belarusian entrepreneurs a part of the international business community.
