In the castle of Bokrijk the second edition of the job inspiration fair 'VAKmanschap Werkt' took place. Some 80 interested people could find out how to evolve from a craftsman to an entrepreneur. "Craftsmanship is a unique combination between head, hands and heart. It is also a qualitative way of distinguishing you as an enterprise. With this initiative, we want to inform and inspire all those who work in the field of craftsmanship, "says Igor Philtjens, chairman of Domein Bokrijk and Deputy of Tourism, Culture and Heritage at the Province of Limburg. "Together with 11 major partners, we provide tailor-made advice for both interested starters and self-employed. And with the establishment of the Expertise Center Vaklab, we will eventually strengthen the entrepreneurship culture in our province. "
Combining forces at the job inspiration fair.
The fair offers a platform for joint action around employment, coupled with craftsmanship. Bokrijk combined the forces with different complementary organizations.
Partners in this story are GEN Belgium, OPL, PXL-MAD, Starterslabo, Syntra, Unizo, VDAB, Flanders DC, Kunstenloket, RTC Limburg and Handmade in Belgium. Interested parties could contact the participating organizations for personalized custom advice on questions about pricing, contract preparation, or the startup of a business. On the ongoing networking fair, new contacts were established between professionals, experts and companies. Various professionals testified about their journey from professional to entrepreneur.
Creation of knowledge and services center VAKlab
Bokrijk will therefore develop in the coming years as an incubator of craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
Through the recently approved EFPRO project VAKlab, Bokrijk receives European support to build an expertise center in the Bokrijk castle. VAKlab will be a physical and digital meeting place where professionals, companies and partner organizations can exchange knowledge and experience, follow training and build a network.
The official launch of VAKlab is scheduled for February 22, 2018.
