GEN Cambodia and its long-time GEW co-host, the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC), have celebrated GEW since 2011 and hosted an official event first time in 2013. This year, the organization launched its first initiative to celebrate GEW in Cambodia moving forward called the Cambodia Entrepreneurship Symposium.
The Symposiums was hosted by YEAC’s provincial chapters starting in Siem Reap, Battambang, Preah Sihanouk, and Kratie inviting local entrepreneurs and university students in their areas. The final wrap-up was in Phnom Penh discussing the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Digital Transformation of SMEs in Cambodia. Notable speakers in Phnom Penh include:

- H.E. Heng Sokkung, Secretary of State, Ministry of Industry Science Technology and Innovation

- Oknha Pech Bolen, President, YEAC
- Mr. Sar Kinal, Executive Vice President, YEAC
- Ms. Nuth Clara, Executive Director, Apsara Media Services
- Ms. Buth Kerady, Founder and CEO, Cambodia Securities Plc.
Both public and private representation agreed that the entrepreneurial ecosystem can be vibrant if all stakeholders are able to work collaboratively on their expertise and generate benefits for all involved. Thus, the in-line ministries are looking forward to supporting GEN Cambodia, YEAC, and their partners to continue to create programs that support entrepreneurship development in Cambodia.
