Global Entrepreneurship Week will be celebrated in Chad for the first time, from November 13 to November 19, 2017. The one week program aims to develop and celebrate entrepreneurship across Chad.
GEW Chad is the most awaited event of the year among youth, according to organizers, and it is currently a challenge for the organizing committee to meet the requirement. More than 3,000 attendees are expected.
The week will take place in several locations concurrently:
- N'Djamena Startup week from 13 to 17 November 2017, at the Palais du 15 Janvier
- Forum to invest in Chad from 17 to 18 November 2017, at the Hilton Hotel
- Agro business festival in Chad from 15th to 16th November 2017 at the Palais du 15 Janvier.
With 150 events, GEW will focus on six themes: entrepreneurial culture, digital technology and innovation, agricultural and agri-food entrepreneurship, craft and design, investment, civic and social innovation. Global Entrepreneurship Week Chad 2017, will highlight:
- Business climate in Chad
- Potential business opportunities / investment
- The advantages granted to investors
- Measures to protect investments
- Incentives and facilities offered to startups
Invest in Chad, a signature event of the week, aims to bring together players from across the country and the world to invest in the country’s most innovative startup ventures. Angel investors, venture capital community, government representatives, and corporate partners in assistance will share best practices, lessons and roadmap for early stage investment in the country.
During this event, attendants will be able to:
- Meet and network with local startups and entrepreneurs
- Connect with Chad's startup ecosystem
- Network with pre-eminent opinion leaders in the early-stage investment space, and access the latest investment methods and best practices - from sourcing deals through to valuations and exits.
- Share best practices in angel investing - deal sourcing, terms, supporting portfolio companies, syndication, and top exits
- Discuss the latest data and trends in startup investing in tech and life sciences
- Hear keynote presentations from thought leading investors and entrepreneurs
- Network with top angels from throughout Chad and the world

- Learn and share the keys to start and grow firms from successful and successful entrepreneurs around the world and from the incubators, programs and investors who support them.
- Participate in a wide range of sessions ranging from crowdfunding of co-founders that result in angel investment and public policies to foster business growth.

- Contribute to the construction of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Chad
The event is an initiative of the community, and organized in partnership with actors of Chad’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in collaboration with Global Entrepreneurship Chad; Reseau Des Jeunes Pour Le Developpement Ete Le Leadership Au Tchad, WENAKLABS, NIRVANA Organization, and institutional partnership of the National Investment and Export Agency (ANIE) and the Chamber of Commerce of Chad. The event is endorsed by three different ministries in Chad, the chamber of commerce, the national investment agency, and organizers say they are waiting for the president to endorse GEW as well.
