COMPETITION OF COMMERCIALISTS

Mentors Marija Istenić from the Commercial and Trade School Split and Nada Ratković from Ban Josip Jelačić Secondary Vocational School Sinj will organize a competition for commercial students at the Commercial and Trade School in Split on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The students will be exhibitors at the fair in Split, where they will have to present their trading company and their new product.

For this purpose, students will create presentations in a digital tool according to their own choice in Croatian and English. Presentations should include: basic information about their trading company, logo, mission and vision of the trading company and basic information about the product range while emphasizing their new product.

Students will receive INQUIRIES from two potential foreign buyers with different delivery parities (CIF Genova and CIP Milan) and should know INCOTERMS terms (official international rules and terms that regulate the legal-economic relations between buyers and sellers in international trade regarding the transfer of risk and costs for the delivery of goods from one contracting party to the other).

In order to choose a more profitable business and be able to respond to that customer with a solid offer, students will calculate the profitability of the export business by creating PRE-CALCULATIONS using the differential method according to the default template for creating pre-calculations.

Students will receive in the attachment all the necessary elements for pre-calculation:

- basic data on the subject of export (subject of export, possible selling price, delivery parity, price of domestic producer, packaging and weight, mode of transport, delivery term, payment) and

- information from the international shipper on the dependent costs of the export business (costs of loading goods, costs of sea and land transport, costs of port fees and boarding, costs of insurance of goods, costs of freight forwarding services, fee according to freight forwarder's invoice, domestic commercial bank commission, etc.)

After calculating a more profitable job, the students will respond to a potential (more profitable) foreign customer with a FIRM OFFER in English, based on a pre-calculation prepared previously, respecting all the rules of business correspondence.

Six teams of three students each will participate in the competition, who will show their creativity, innovation, dexterity, knowledge, skill... and fight for victory.
