GEN in Croatia
GEN has been active in Croatia since the very first edition of Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2008, with Katarina Jagić leading a campaign spanning multiple cities and reaching deep into secondary education. A landmark moment came in 2012 with the production of Dream Croatia — an inspirational film featuring 77 figures including President Ivo Josipović, who called entrepreneurship "the only thing that can help Croatia achieve positive growth and sustainable development." Croatian startups have competed on GEN's global platforms, with Teddy the Guardian winning the Creative Business Cup global finals in 2013 and Synergotron reaching the Entrepreneurship World Cup Top 100 in 2024. GEN maintains active relationships with partners including the Ministry of Economy, SEECEL, and ZIP / Startup Croatia.
