It is a flagrant foolishness to hope for a healthy economy in situation where entrepreneurship is not advanced. A haunted entrepreneurship ecosystem indisputably has a daunting effect on the economy of a nation. Hence, countries and institutions ought to confer due consideration to the development of entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC) – Ethiopia is acting towards the enhancement of skills and competencies of entrepreneurs though various forms of trainings and advisory services. Building institutional capacity of private and public institution being among the diverse activities undertaken by EDC – Ethiopia to impact the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country positively. In lieu of this, EDC – Ethiopia Oromia National Regional State Coordination Office based in Bishoftu provided capacity building training in the area of entrepreneurship to selected participants from stakeholders based in Lagatoafo town. 42 participants have attended the training. The training took place from November 13 – 18, 2017. The event took place as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) celebration in the region.
In addition to the technical skills and competencies this training bestows upon the participants, we very much hope that had enabled them to clearly visualize the importance of entrepreneurship in collective and personal development. IT is also hoped that the training stimulated a significant leverage of interaction and fosters cooperation between the various stakeholders that have direct or indirect impact on the work of entrepreneurs. Moreover, the participants themselves have been seeing the training as pathway and decisive springboard to start their own business.
