Customized entrepreneurship training (CET) was delivered to 50 participants in Woliso

The customized entrepreneurship training (CET) was delivered to 50 participants in this first round, mostly young aspiring entrepreneurs and those already engaged in informal businesses. This training was designed to facilitate the transition to formalized business operations which is crucial, as many small enterprises operate outside the formal economy, limiting their access to resources and opportunities. The event took place from November 20 to 21/2024 at Biyaf Tolera Hotel in Woliso town, Oromia, Ethiopia.

The event was accompanied by thought provoking proverb testimonies from the participants' side and narrated shortly as: "A man married a woman but divorced her due to her lack of skills. He then married another woman, who also turned out to be unskilled. This pattern continued until he had married nine women, all of whom were unskilled. Eventually, he married a tenth woman who possessed exceptional skills. Overjoyed by her wisdom, he asked her, 'Where were you with such knowledge while I was suffering?' The woman replied, 'Here I am.' In frustration, he lamented the time and effort he had been wasting." Turning to the EDI team in wonder, "Where were you with such valuable lessons when we wasted millions of Birr as part of our displacement compensation? Adding that if this training had been provided earlier, those resources would not have been misspent. Countless mistakes could have been avoided. Nevertheless, I am very confident that my life will be completely changed by this training."
