Customized Entrepreneurship Training Workshop conducted on 20–21 November 2024 at Aleta Wondo Polytechnic College



In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a Customized Entrepreneurship Training Workshop was conducted on 20–21 November 2024 at Aleta Wondo Polytechnic College. Facilitated by Biniyam Shiferaw and Abebe Getu, the workshop brought together 19 women and 3 men to provide them with the essential skills and knowledge to start and manage successful businesses. This training exemplified GEW’s mission of empowering individuals with the tools to foster entrepreneurial spirit and contribute to sustainable economic growth within their communities.

The workshop focused on critical entrepreneurial topics, including Goal Setting, Opportunity Seeking, Persuasion, and Networking. Through interactive workshops and group discussions, participants brainstormed innovative business ideas tailored to their local communities. These activities enhanced participants' understanding of key business principles and emphasized the importance of addressing real-world challenges with creative, market-driven solutions, reflecting the goals of GEW.

The diverse group dynamic contributed to enriching discussions, where participants shared insights, built connections, and identified opportunities for collaboration. This network-building environment created a foundation for ongoing support, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in entrepreneurship. The exchange of ideas and experiences helped create a supportive entrepreneurial community among participants.

Feedback from the attendees indicated a significant boost in their confidence and readiness to embark on their own entrepreneurial ventures. By providing practical tools and fostering a collaborative environment, the workshop empowered participants with the knowledge necessary to sustain and grow their businesses. This initiative is a perfect reflection of GEW’s vision of nurturing entrepreneurial ecosystems that promote sustainable economic development and create long-term, positive change within communities.
