The development of a comprehensive support document with stakeholders: One of the remarkable events during the Global Entrepreneurship Week, Adama

One of the remarkable events during the Global Entrepreneurship Week is the development of a comprehensive support document with collaborative effort between Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) -Ethiopia and Oromia Job Creation and Vocational Bureau, upon the request of the Oromia Regional State Government. This initiative responds to the various challenges that many entrepreneurs and aspiring youths raise during the Entrepreneurship trainings at EDI and as they prepare to launch or expand their businesses. Furthermore, the goal of this document is to enhance access to finance, workplace and to streamline service delivery from these stakeholders by leveraging experiences from developed nations while considering the local context of Ethiopia.

Following this, from November 20 to 25, 2024 a collaborative team comprising representatives from several stakeholders—including the Oromia Job Creation Bureau, EDI Ethiopia, Bureau of Oromia Land Administration, Capital Goods Finance, Oromia Trade Bureau, Sinke Bank, Sheger Entrepreneurs’ Association, and Oromia Investment and Industry Bureau—has been formed to create this support package. On this event,  Mr. Habtamu Kassa, the Deputy Head of the Oromia Job Creation and Vocational Bureau, along with Mr. Daba Shoro, Regional Coordinator at Oromia Regional Coordination Office of  Entrepreneurship Development Institute delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the significance of this document in fostering entrepreneurship development within the region. Furthermore, they highlighted that the steadfast commitment of these stakeholders is essential for achieving the success of this initiative.
