EBMS training workshop was held at Mizan Agri-TVET College in Southwest Ethiopia

From November 25 to 28, 2024, an EBMS training workshop was held at Mizan Agri-TVET College in Southwest Ethiopia. Higher education in Ethiopia has faced persistent challenges in preparing graduates who prioritize seeking employment over creating opportunities. The SEED project has been pivotal in addressing this issue by fostering entrepreneurial capabilities among students. This initiative has been particularly impactful in TVET institutions, where students are trained in practical skills with the potential to establish sustainable businesses. The Entrepreneurship and Business Management Skills training has significantly contributed to shifting perspectives within TVET institutions and their graduates, promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

The workshop aimed to cultivate entrepreneurial instincts among the 45 young graduates who participated, encouraging them to think innovatively, address societal challenges, and explore opportunities within their immediate environments. Participants were guided to view their peers, fellow students, and the college campus as potential customers and to identify business opportunities aligned with their skills. The training was facilitated by experienced trainers and instructors, Wale Bitew and Hibist Zewde, who provided invaluable insights and practical tools to support the participants’ entrepreneurial aspirations.

This initiative highlights the importance of equipping graduates with the skills and mindset to act as change-makers in their communities, thereby driving sustainable economic growth and addressing societal needs through innovative solutions.
