EDI Empowers IDP Youth in Tigray, Shire through Entrepreneurship Training

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) recently concluded a comprehensive entrepreneurship and business management training program for 393 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Shire, Tigray. This initiative, conducted as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW-2024) celebrations, aimed to equip young IDPs with the necessary skills to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
The week-long training, which took place from November 10 to 18, 2024, engaged 221 male and 172 female participants. The program covered a wide range of topics, including business planning, financial management, marketing, and customer service. By providing practical knowledge and hands-on experience, EDI sought to empower these young individuals to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to their communities.
“This training has ignited a spark within me. I now have the confidence and skills to start my own business and create opportunities for myself and others,” shared one of the participants.
