EDI Participates in 5th National Career Expo, Showcasing Opportunities for Graduates.

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – November, 2024

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) proudly participated in the 5th National Career Expo, organized by Dereja.com in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Skills, the Mastercard Foundation, and EthioJobs. Held at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa from November 6-7, this year’s expo aimed to connect 30,000 graduates with 300 employers across various industries, strengthening career pathways for Ethiopia's youth.

This two-day event is part of a broader initiative by Dereja, the Mastercard Foundation, and EthioJobs, which has successfully linked over 90,000 graduates to employment opportunities over the past five years. EDI’s participation highlighted its dedication to supporting Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and providing attendees with information on its comprehensive entrepreneurship support programs.

At the EDI booth, attendees explored a range of programs, including Entrepreneurship Training Workshops (ETW), Women Entrepreneurship Training (WET), and employability enhancement initiatives. EDI representatives emphasized how these training programs equip graduates with the skills to succeed in today’s job market, as well as prepare them to launch and grow their own businesses.

As an institution that bridges the gap between education and employment, EDI also showcased its Centers of Excellence in Entrepreneurship (CoEEs) and provided insights into its role in building partnerships and supporting SMEs. during the expo, EDI reaffirmed its commitment to empowering graduates with the entrepreneurial skills needed to thrive in a competitive job market.
