EDI’s Workshop promotes Inclusive Entrepreneurship for People with Disabilities

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) recently hosted a special workshop focused on mainstreaming disability in economic recovery. The event, held as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW-2024) in Shire, highlighted the importance of inclusive entrepreneurship and provided a platform for discussion and action.
The workshop brought together representatives from various organizations, including UNHCR, IOM, Handicap International, the Ethiopian Disability Association, and government offices. Participants engaged in insightful discussions on strategies to empower individuals with disabilities and create a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Mr. Sileshi Temesgen, Chairman of the Federation of Ethiopian Disability Association, commended EDI's efforts in providing entrepreneurship training to people with disabilities. He emphasized that this initiative has instilled confidence in participants, empowering them to become job creators.
The workshop concluded with the certification of 235 participants, including 31 individuals with visual impairments and 32 individuals with hearing impairments.
