The Entrepreneurship and Business Management Skills (EBMS) training at Jinka Polytechnic College

The Entrepreneurship and Business Management Skills (EBMS) training at Jinka Polytechnic College focused on equipping youth with the knowledge and skills needed to start and manage businesses effectively. Over four days, from November 14 to 17, 2024, the training emphasized business creation, operational management, problem-solving, innovation, and ensuring profitability through strategic planning and leadership. The objective was to enable participants to apply basic business skills by running their own ventures, overcome challenges by unlocking their potential, and embrace a proactive approach to life and business.

The training was organized through the collaboration of Jinka Town Enterprise Office, Jinka Polytechnic College, and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI). The opening ceremony featured speeches by the Dean of Jinka Polytechnic College, a representative from the Enterprise Office, and EDI training facilitator Mr. Gezahegn Gesese. A total of 40 participants, including 24 men and 16 women, completed the program, engaging in Business Challenge Exercises (BCE) and team projects that reinforced the skills taught.

During the closing ceremony, participants received certificates, and gratitude was extended to all collaborators. The session concluded with group photos facilitated by Mr. Gezahegn Gesese. The trainers noted a positive shift in participants' attitudes toward their life goals and business aspirations, demonstrating the program’s impact. However, additional support and guidance were identified as necessary to help the participants achieve their full entrepreneurial potential.
