Entrepreneurship and Business Management(EBMS) training was given in Mekoni town

On the eve of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Entrepreneurship and Business Management(EBMS) training  was given in Mekoni town from November 16-19, 2024 at Meda Raya Hotel . The training was given to 160 unemployed youths who have graduated from colleges and universities with diplomas and degree.

The workshop was opened by the Mr Samuel Reda, Head of Mekoni Economic Sector. Mr. Samuel underlined on his speech thanking EDI and encouraged the trainees to utilize this special opportunity. The overall program was very effective accompanied with active participations, good initiation of the participants and good preparation of the trainers and on time availability of the facilities. Trainees were also given an opportunity to reflect their views on the training. Accordingly, most of the trainers appreciate the training not only because the training delivery methods were participatory, motivational and demand training utmost engagement but also have remarkable contribution on changing their attitudes regarding business creation.

Most of the trainees graduated from higher institutions but look for wage employment. The trainees also noted that it was a good opportunity for them to attend for this training because they were promised by the town administration to engage in SEED program which will help them to obtain startup capital. They believe that this training could have immense importance on managing their SEED projects and safe transition to their own business. On the other hand, most of them reflected that the training highly impacted them to start their own businesses but still access to finance is the critical challenges. Therefore, they remarked that EDI shall work diligently on the after-training services such as BDS and access to finance.
