Engagement with Women Entrepreneurs

As part of GEW Ethiopia, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), in partnership with the Oromia Women and Youth Affairs Bureau, held a community dialogue with women entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners who have been receiving entrepreneurship training and business development support since December 2024. The session aimed to identify the key factors preventing participants from starting or growing their businesses. Women highlighted challenges such as limited access to finance, market constraints, infrastructure gaps, and competing household responsibilitiesissues that particularly affect rural entrepreneurs. The engagement took place at the Kebele level, demonstrating EDIs and the Oromia Women and Youth Affairs Offices commitment to ensuring that entrepreneurship support reaches underserved and rural communities. The discussion revealed strong entrepreneurial motivation among the women and generated valuable insights that will help improve future programming. This activity underscores both institutions dedication to making entrepreneurship support inclusive and ensuring that no one is left behind.
