Experience sharing with former model student with Agena Poli Technic College staff

After discussions with the Dean and Vice Dean of Agena Polytechnic College, the EDI team identified outstanding former students who are successfully running their own businesses in the town. Based on the college’s recommendation, Mr. Getahun Amerga, a former student, was selected to share his entrepreneurial journey with the college community. During his presentation, he described the challenges he faced in starting and expanding his business, as well as the opportunities that motivated him to persist. Despite many difficulties, he has now become the owner of one of the town’s most recognized metal works enterprises.  Mr. Getahun highlighted the important role of the college in encouraging students and staff to actively engage in entrepreneurship. As a good practice, he has employed several recent Agena TVET graduates and offers them hands-on experience in his workshop. During the session, participants asked questions about his business operations and future plans, which he answered openly and enthusiastically. He concluded his presentation by sharing his contact information and encouraging students to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions with determination.
