Raya University Hosts Panel Discussion with EDI to Ignite Entrepreneurship for GEW 2025

Raya University (RU) in Maichew, Ethiopia, hosted a dynamic panel discussion as a significant step in the annual Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2025 campaign, aiming to foster an entrepreneurial culture. Organized by RU's Centre for Employability and Entrepreneurship Development Office (CEED) in collaboration with the national Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), the event gathered university staff, students, and key stakeholders to discuss entrepreneurship and regional development. Dr. Mehari Haile, Scientific Director for Research, Community Engagement, and Technology Transfer, formally opened the panel on behalf of RU's President. He extended a warm welcome to the EDI delegation, RU deans, directors, and staff, commending EDI for their crucial work and the successful entrepreneurship training programs delivered across the Tigray region, particularly in the Southern Tigray Zone. Following this, Mr. Dagimawi Yohannes, EDI’s Tigray Regional Director, provided an insightful overview of the Institute's history, milestones, and vital role in rebuilding Tigray's post-war entrepreneurial landscape, emphasizing its importance for the region's recovery and future prosperity. This panel discussion strongly affirms the commitment of both Raya University and EDI to empower future job creators and drive economic resurgence in Tigray.
